59 year Old Femi Otedola was born on the 4th of November 1962 to the rich family of Mr. Michael Otedola and Lady Doja.

Femi was born in Ibadan, Oyo State. His Father, Michael Otedola was a former Governor of Lagos State, so they were never poor.

Femi has a history with oil companies, he's source of wealth is arguably from the Oil sector.

In 2003, he set up Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, a company that manages, markets and distributes Petroleum products.

By 2005, Zenon controlled the Nigerian Diesel market, the company supplied petroleum products to big companies like MTN and Dangote Group.

Fast-forward to 2007, Femi Otedola was appointed the Chief Executive and Chairman of African Petroleum because he acquired majority of the shares in the company.

2 years later, due to Otedola's huge success in the Oil sector, he became the second Nigerian after Aliko Dangote to be added to Forbes' list of dollar-denominated billionaires.

As of that time, Femi Otedola was worth around $1.2 billion.
